PLNU Dining hosted the "Game On" theme meal on September 23rd. Students played games such as a beanbag toss, football toss and ring toss to win tee shirts and other prizes while enjoying great tailgating food.

Jason Nussbaum, Carlos Juarez and Joe Graves hosted our second faculty/staff cooking class on Tuesday September 21st. Attendees were coached on how to prepare "Cod En Papillote" - a flavorful dish that includes cod filets, spinach, carrots, onions, celery and an avocado relish. Creation Care Week brought you the 2nd Annual "Top Chef: Students vs. Sodexo" cooking competition. Executive Chef Carlos Juarez and Assistant Chef Joe Graves competed against two PLNU students in a cooking competition. On September 15th, both teams shopped for local ingredients at the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market and prepared dishes using only those ingredients the following day. Dining Services is proud to partner with Sustain PLNU in this fun and exciting event each year.

The first "Top Choice" night was held in "the Caf" on September 8, 2010. Students are able to use meal swipes and flex or cash to purchase an upgraded - "Top Choice" meal. For our first "Top Choice" event, $3 and a meal swipe gave interested students access to our special meal - a 6oz. Tuna Steak with Fresh Green Beans Almandine and Mango Relish. "Top Choice" nights are scheduled monthly and will feature a different menu each month. October's "Top Choice" night will feature everyone's favorite - Steak!

Dining Services served more than 12,000 meals during the two-day New Student Orientation event. New PLNU students began their college careers getting acquainted with the University, the campus and their new home away from come. Dining Services would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new friends here at PLNU!
